A pipe block with the innovative cement-free lean concrete BEGROX25 Oulesse was erected in Zurich. The test, which took place from 9 to 12 December 2024, aimed to test the processability, consistency and setting behaviour of the cement-free concrete.

In its assessment, EWZ stated: “BEGROX25 RC-C lean and tamped concrete 0/16 BM 250 C1 is equivalent to cement-bonded concrete in terms of consistency, but is slightly stickier. This is shown by the fact that it holds together better when shaping by hand into a bale. After one day, the concrete had hardened as much as the cement-bonded concrete. In terms of application, the BEGROX25 can be handled just as easily as conventional concrete. After talking to the employees of Isen Ltd., they confirmed that processing was as usual.”
The tests were carried out under real conditions and confirm the suitability of the building material for sustainable construction by promoting the reuse of demolition material and not using cement.
