Hegibach town hall

Less cement, less reinforcement and permanently bound CO₂ – the project at Hegibachstrasse 1 in Zurich illustrates the potential offered by innovative concrete technologies for building construction.

Entry from 01.05.2024

A modern residential and commercial building with ten apartments and two commercial spaces was built at Hegibachstrasse 1 in Zurich. The town hall is the result of a quality-oriented architectural competition. Particular attention was paid to the use of innovative concrete according to annex ND, which enabled the reduction of the minimum testing. As a result, the environmental impact could be reduced by 35% without compromising on performance.

The project saved 370 tonnes of cement and permanently bound 35 tonnes of CO₂ in the concrete.
